That was very nice of you to contact me, as you have obviously gleaned from my errant posts, I am sort of rootless, floating through a spiritual world of my own. I thought your idea, or actual play sounded very beautiful and conjured up many images of the Inca, I imagined very bright colours and a rather metaphoric staging!. Do keep me posted on your ideas and if you are a friend of Frankie's, thank her for creating this lovely web-site. I am flying from NZ to London on 21st April, who knows what, when, why? All I know is it is time to move on. Maybe LA in the future shake down, but I will need to be sure, it's a long way from anything calming, one must be ready for the battle!....best wishes Joseph Rye ('Salvador Jorge Dominguez' on Facebook).

Hello,

I came across your blog and wanted to introduce myself. I am a theater publicist and have found more and more that bloggers use their passions as true platforms for like-minded individuals.

Here is a a sample of the play I am working on. Enjoy and feel free to contact me to discuss more about it. It opens April 30 at the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts in Los Angeles, CA

In Cumbia de mi corazón, two angelic hosts are determined to bring their unwilling client to the celestial “Big House” and earn their wings. They muse over various plans to convince Don Heriberto to finally enter the door to heaven.
But Don Heriberto, dead these 50 years, is determined to remain in an outer valley between the terrestrial and heavenly worlds until he can reunite with the owner of his soul, his wife Maruca, 80. When he finally encounters Maruca in the spiritual world, she is lost and confused. His task, then, is to reawaken her heart—a heavenly courtship. This he does with the cumbias that were current during their original courtship back in the 1930s and 1940s.

A CONDITIONED RESPONSE

Back on the rickety blue bench
Provided by
The laundry people

Huckleberry’s adventures
Sucked into machine eddy
I have always been constructive with conditioner

Patterns producing cleanliness

My 2-1 errands
The Grove filling its dirty boots
Rinse away my week wondering why?

Still living in the cancerous city
People killing themselves
To meet with estate agents

Patterns producing cleanliness

I have a working farm
I will bring my crop to market
Trawl up to town

Notice the beautiful belly of London
For a brace of codling
A lugworm is required

For an embrace in this city
A neck brace is a necessity

In a bold and daring move, the Knightsbridge Theatre is kicking off its 17th season with the World Premiere of Twenty-Two, a new play based on the true story of a young woman’s cathartic downfall into cocaine addiction, opening January 8, 2010.

Nothing ever changes for Leila and her circle of so-called friends: sex, drugs, more drugs and...punk-hop? Their days and nights revolve around cocaine – getting high, coming down, and doing anything to get more. But nothing lasts forever, and when the drugs run out or stop working, they are forced to confront what they’ve so desperately been trying to avoid – life. Twenty-Two explores a new realm of theatre, with the audience seated on stage, the story literally unfolds at your feet and brings you into the world of the play, making for a more “real” experience that is not easily forgotten.

Twenty-Two runs Friday, January 8 through Saturday, January 30, 2010. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted due to adult themes such as language, drug use, partial nudity, sexual behavior and some violence. The Knightsbridge Theatre is located at 1944 Riverside Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90039, near the 2 and 5 freeways. For reservations, call 323.667.0955 or visit www.knightsbridgetheatre.com. For additional information and to view a “trailer” visit www.twentytwo-play.com.

We would be honored if you attended our show. Please feel free to contact us for information and/or reservations at filthylovelies@gmail.com. Thank you.
